New Danish series Forhøret (Face to Face) has released its first images of some of its stellar cast. Pictured are (left to right) Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Lars Mikkelsen, Ulrich Thomsen and Trine Dyrholm but also reportedly in the cast are Danish heavyweights Søren Malling and Lars Ranthe, and Swedish star David Dencik who we most recently saw portraying Gorbachev in the smash hit Chernobyl. It’s also written and directed by Christoffer Boe, whose most recent credits include the TV series Warrior (Kriger) and Dept Q film: The Purity Of Vengeance, in collaboration with award-winning contemporary playwright Jacob Weis.

Ulrich Thomsen (Counterpart, The Blacklist) stars as lead character Bjørn, a policeman who does everything in his power to find his daughter’s killer. The eight part thriller takes place all in one day and in each episode he interrogates a new suspect. The psychological battle between two people is what makes it a unique series and the intensity increases as Bjørn gets closer to the killer and the truth about his daughter’s tragic death.
Forhøret is expected to premiere on the Scandinavian streaming service Viaplay at some time later this year and Fremantle will distribute internationally. Odds are good that it will be snapped up abroad with that pedigree – we will, of course, bring you any such news as soon as we hear it.
