Walter Presents and S4C have announced an exciting new partnership to bring a selection of Europe’s most thrilling dramas, handpicked by acclaimed Italian drama curator Walter Iuzzolino, to the Welsh language audience.
Walter Presents ar gyfer S4C will feature original, award-winning dramas with Welsh language subtitles on S4C and S4C Clic; free-of-charge, with no subscription fees. Of greatest significance to most of our readers: English subtitles will also be available on each series.
The service will launch on Tuesday 22 October with the premiere of Swedish drama Stockholm Requiem (Offeren Stockholm is the Welsh language title) on S4C Clic. This will be the first time the series has been shown in the UK, with the entire series available to watch on demand.
On the same day, the first episode of Crimson Rivers (Afonydd Gwaedlyd) will broadcast on S4C at 10pm, with the entire series available to watch on S4C Clic at the same time. Crimson Rivers has already aired on More4 and is currently available across the UK on All4.
Based on Kristina Ohlsson’s novels, Stockholm Requiem (Sthlm Rekviem) is a stylish Swedish drama featuring criminologist Frederika Bergmann as its main character.
After a tragic car accident, she accepts a job at Stockholm police’s special investigation unit. Despite her colleagues’ initial hostility towards her, she applies her unique perspective and sense of logic to help them solve their cases.
The ten episode first season, comprising five two-part stories, was released on C More in Sweden in October 2018. Liv Mjönes (The Lawyer) plays Fredrika Bergman with Jonas Karlsson (Beck) as Alex Recht and Alexej Manvelov (Before We Die, Occupied) as Peder Rydh. A brief trailer – in Swedish with no subtitles – below.
The full boxset is available on Walter Presents ar gyfer S4C from Tuesday, 22nd October.
