
BBC Two has announced the premiere date for the highly anticipated new six-part crime series The Investigation, which follows the complex investigation carried out by Jens Møller, the Head of Homicide for the Copenhagen Police, surrounding the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall.
Søren Malling (A Hijacking, Borgen, The Killing) leads the cast as Jens Møller, alongside Pilou Asbæk (Game Of Thrones, A War, Borgen) as the prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen and Pernilla August (Star Wars, The Legacy) and Rolf Lassgård (The Hunters, Wallander) as Kim Wall’s parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall. Further cast includes Laura Christensen, Anders Juul, Henrik Birch, Hans Henrik Clemensen, Dulfi Al-Jabouri and Charlotte Munck. The series is written and directed by Tobias Lindholm (A War, A Hijacking, Borgen).
The series focuses on the Copenhagen Police and Head of Homicide, Jens Møller’s investigation and follows the methodical, unusual and technical work that enabled them to solve the murder of journalist Kim Wall. The Investigation was produced by Fremantle’s Miso Film. It was co-produced by Outline Film for TV 2 Danmark, SVT and Viaplay with support from The Danish Film Institute’s Public Service Fund and Copenhagen Film Fund. The series – which is distributed internationally by Fremantle – is already available on SBS in Australia and is due to premiere on HBO and HBO Max in the United States on 1 February.
