“Emma is carefree and spontaneous; her daughter, Micol, is methodical and organised. Together they complement each other: Micol the responsible child; Emma the adult who never grew up. But when the family relocate from Rome to Livorno, Micol discovers she is pregnant at 16, like her mother before her. Now Emma must come to terms with the city and family circumstances she fled from years ago”. Italian drama that’s been on Acorn for a while but I missed when it first came out.

The Sommerdahl Murders S2 Acorn UK [Available since 21/06/2021]
“DCI Dan Sommerdahl investigates murders in a lovely Danish coastal town with his best friend, Detective Flemming Torp, and his wife, Marianne, a criminal technician. But Dan’s years of devotion to the job have hurt his marriage, and with Marianne wanting a divorce, Dan discovers his rival for her affections is none other than his best friend. And they all must still work together to solve crimes”. Season 2 of the Danish drama.

“After 10 years abroad, Candice Renoir is back in the south of France and back on the case as a police commandant. Newly divorced with four kids, Candice feels rusty at work-and her skeptical colleagues don’t help. Season 1 of this French crime drama has been on Acorn for a few weeks now: seasoon 2 arrives on Monday.

“In 2004, a distress call to police was made from a research facility in Limetown, Tennessee. When the first responders arrived at the facility, they realised that they were in a “graveyard without bodies.” The residents of Limetown, consisting of over 300 neuroscientists and their families, were nowhere to be found. This is the mysterious case that Lia Haddock (Biel), investigative reporter, journalist, and American Public Radio host, is unpacking through her latest podcast. Her commitment to solving the mystery is more than a job – her uncle Emile (Tucci) was one of the scientists who vanished”. The series was originally released on Facebook Watch.

The Watch S1 BBC iPlayer 01/07/2021
“A group of misfit cops rise up from decades of helplessness to save their corrupt city from catastrophe”. Based on the characters from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels. The series will also air on BBC2 at a later date.
