Walter Presents: Ice Cold Murders: Rocco Schiavone Seasons 2 & 3.

Walter Presents is heading back to the Italian mountains for not one but two new seasons of Ice Cold Murders: Rocco Schiavone.

A spoiler free reminder of the premise of the series for anyone who may not yet have seen season 1: “After getting on the wrong side of the wrong people in Rome, Deputy Police Chief Rocco Schiavone is exiled to Aosta, a small, touristy alpine town far from the cobbled streets and fritto misto of his beloved city. Rocco’s talent for solving crimes is matched only by his disdain for the rules and his eye for a beautiful woman. But when a mangled body is found on the ski slopes, he soon discovers that his Roman sophistication – not to mention his expensive Roman shoes – are of little help in this dangerous and unfamiliar mountain landscape. With blood on the black run, rumours of mafia involvement and a murderer at large, Deputy Police Chief Schiavone is about to find himself skating on very thin ice…”

Here’s the season 1 trailer. Below that you’ll find details about season 2 which includes SPOILERS for season 1 if you haven’t yet seen all the episodes.

After Adele’s murder, Rocco is grilled by his superiors.  What does Enzo Baiocchi want from him?  And what really happened between him and Baiocchi?  But Rocco doesn’t talk. He wants to keep the police out of it, because he promised Sebastiano that when they catch Baiocchi, Rocco will hand him over to Sebastiano and not the law.  The Assistant Commissioner no longer believes in revenge, but he can’t say no to Sebastiano, not after the secret they share… Meanwhile, Rocco must investigate a double murder and struggling to find motive, he discovers a priceless watch has gone missing from the victim’s collection.

Italian actor Marco Giallini plays the foul-mouthed Rocco Schiavone and is a big star in Italy, having picked up 7 awards and 15 nominations.

Season 2 (4 x 120m episodes) will air weekly on More4 from Friday, 11 February and will be followed by season 3 (4 x 120m episodes) – though there will be a gap of a few weeks between the two seasons with the exact premiere date for season 3 still TBC.

    1. You’d have to ask the Italian producers but they only made 4 feature length episodes in seasons 2 & 3. The bad news is that there are only 2 episodes in season 4 – though I’m not sure if that even shorter season might be due to COVID related filming issues.

  1. It is Marco Giallini who plays Rocco Schiavone. Antonio Manzini writes the books the series are based on.
