There seems to be very little information available so far in English about this new Netflix Original series though it was first reported in the Norwegian media in late September 2021. The series is based on the real life unsolved disappearance of Anne-Elisabeth Hagen in October 2018.
According to screenwriter Nikolaj Frobenius: “Our series is not about the question of guilt, but precisely about how the unsolved case influences and helps to shape our performances. What happens to us as a society when we don’t know, asks the screenwriter, who believes the series will survive regardless of the outcome of the investigation”.
