Following on from the success of smash-hit series on Walter Presents such as ‘The Border’ and ‘The Teacher’, the curated VOD service has been enthusiastically promoting Polish scripted series across its territories, bringing them to the attention of a large international audience. Walter Presents viewers across the US, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand will now be able to enjoy three further hit thriller series totalling 28 hours of content.
Based on a bestselling book by renowned Polish novelist Remigiusz Mróz, high octane legal drama The Disappearance (Chyłka. Zaginięcie) (2 seasons, 13 episodes – 2018-19) follows a couple whose baby goes missing under mysterious circumstances, which forces them to hire ruthless hot-shot lawyer, Joanna, to clear them as suspects.
The Sins of the Fathers (Odwróceni. Ojcowie i córki) (8 episodes – 2019) is an unusual gangster thriller shining a light on the dark and dangerous activities of the Warsaw Mafia: two men, a retired policeman and a former criminal must face their past when their daughters’ lives are suddenly put at risk.
Finally, in the twisted tale of Angel of Death (Szadź) (7 episodes – 2020) it is not the identity of the killer that is a mystery, but rather the motives behind his ritualistic killings of young, religious girls.
The series are set to launch on Walter Presents from 2021. More details when we have them.
